The library supports learning, teaching, and RESEARCH, providing instruction in the use of traditional and new information technologies that enhance and reinforce the school curriculum. The educational program is built on a fixed schedule where classes are seen once a week. Students are learning: basic library skills- library organization, book selection and care, book checkout; information literacy skills- accessing and using information efficiently, effectively, critically, ethically, competently, and globally; collaboration and teamwork; and basic research skills- Super3/Big 6 model to acquire, organize, create and present new knowledge. Independent, lifelong learning is ultimate goal and the library program is instrumental in creating independent learners. Studies indicate a direct correlation between student achievement and a dynamic library program.
